Short Statement
My work is greatly influenced by the landscape in which I live and is based on specific themes often influenced by a particular place or experience. I am interested in creating images that reflect the ever changing qualities of the cycles of nature, symbolising the rich and varied aspects of human experience. Recent paintings are inspired by water and plants taken from a variety of sources - looking closely at both real and imaginative experiences, exploring a range of ideas on an environmental theme.

I have successfully completed site specific public and private commissions in hand painted ceramic tiles and mosaics. 2008-2010 Community History Arts Co-ordinator for the Dalriada Project, Argyll. Managing planned programme of art within local schools and the community.
2007-2010 Founder member of Artmap Argyll – an artist run initiative to promote and develop the activity of the visual arts in Argyll.
2002-03 Acted as Community Agent for Shetland Islands Partnership, writing Shetland’s first public art strategy with a view to encourage the adoption of a formal public art strategy.
