Welcome to the first online exhibition of Lesley Burr's Shetland and Argyll work
With nearly two decades of experience Lesley Burr is one of the very active contemporary artists living and working in Scotland today. She lives and works in Argyll on the West Coast of Scotland and has spent the last two years researching and developing a new body of work, influenced by the culture and landscape.
" My paintings have many layers to them - often worked over many weeks, initially as sketches from life, then memory to build a depth that speaks of a significant experience, of an event or time that has been witnessed. I am interested in creating a feeling of space, stillness and reflection that one can more easily experience in nature. "
